The Best Excuse Ever

Guys everywhere have always faced the same challenge of needing a good excuse for going out drinking with the boys.
Cerveza Norte based out of northern Argentina set out to solve this timeless dilemma. Teaming up with ad agency Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, they developed a campaign that is not only very clever but also socially responsible.
The idea was simple, for every Norte beer consumed at a bar the company would donate 1 minute of time to a worthy cause that included fixing houses, maintaining city parks, repairing schools etc.
The campaign allowed followers to monitor the donated minutes and the progress made by their good deeds on a dedicated website.
Interactive “Pick N’ Play” Billboard

DDB Stockholm has created another interactive outdoor campaign for McDonald's Sweden called Pick N' Play. This time they bring Pong-like fun into their latest interactive outdoor effort.
Passersby's are invited to use their mobile phones as controllers to a fun and interactive challenge where they can play for their favorite McDonald's treat. If they last for more than 30 seconds, they score a coupon earning them free fast food at a nearby McDonald's.
Last year they had challenged pedestrians to take pictures of McDonald's food to get it for free.
Handpainted Billboard

Royal Copenhagen is one of the worlds oldest companies with proud traditions and more than 230 years of craftsmanship. In Denmark they are known for their exclusive quality porcelain products.
The mission for their ad agency Uncle Grey was to create an ad that honored the old traditions and at the same time encouraged customers to choose the Danish handmade quality porcelain over the cheaper mass manufactured ones.
Since every porcelain product by Royal Copenhagen is handmade and unique, Uncle Grey had to create an ad that was just as unique...
Mini Photo Box

Mini has just launched an innovative electronic billboard in Berlin's Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard. The billboard is connected to a Photo Box (a booth) that captures the faces of Mini fans and blasts them onto a massive screen along with each participant's favorite Mini model for a chance to win their preferred car!
Contestants have four colors and four models to choose from, including the Mini Hatch, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman. Fans from around the world can also join the fun through the Mini Facebook app, where you can snap a picture with your webcam wearing a pair of virtual headphones in your favorite Mini color.
Mini Recycling Poster

A 'Mini' has only the things it really needs. That means getting rid of the superfluous and keeping an eye on the essentials. Mini calls this 'Minimalism'.
So the Draftfcb/Lowe Group in Zürich created over 20 posters (genuine, unique work of art) all over Switzerland that demonstrated the Mini art of omission in a very simple way.
Mercedes-Benz Interactive Print Ad

The interactive print ad mania continues! After RWB and Axa, we have Mercedes Benz joining in with their ad for the new Mercedes CL63 AMG.
Print Ads That Really Speak

Print ads are hitting above their weight lately. Recently, you could test-drive a Volkswagen right inside a print ad, thanks to a special app. Now, QR codes are being used to get dictators talking in a set of print ads created by Publicis Brussels for the free-press advocacy group Reporters Without Borders (RWB).
In the ads for RWB you scan the QR code with your iPhone and then place the phone over the leader's mouth. The mouth starts talking—but it turns out to be the voice of a journalist discussing media censorship in that particular country.
Currently there are Gaddafi, Ahmadinejad and Putin versions.

Sea Life Rain Campaign

Fresh Green Ads is a green media agency from Amsterdam, that has developed a Rain Campaign for Sea Life Scheveningen.
Every time it rains the octopus of Sea Life Scheveningen appears on the streets with its tentacles holding the text: "Sea Life laat je niet meer los" (Sea Life never lets you go). When the streets dry up the Rain Campaign disappears. The striking and environmentally friendly messages remains visible for up to eight weeks.
The IKEA 365 Campaign

To show the versatility of IKEA, ad agency Lemz Amsterdam sent out a different commercial every day. Thats 1 commercial everyday for 365 days! To achieve this they made 15 commercials in a day! This ensured that they were ahead of time to deliver daily ads that would feature both online and randomly across TV stations.
This is the case study film of the campaign, which still continues today.
Desperados Beer YouTube Takeover

Here is pretty cool and ambitious YouTube takeover. Its one of the first ones I have seen that also integrates the Facebook Connect functionality as part of the experience.
The YouTube campaign has been created by Dufresne Corrigan Scarlett and MediaMonks for beer brand Desperados. The takeover lets you interact with the story as it unfolds and also lets you bring your FB friends into the party by pulling in photos on the fly.
