Food, clothing, shelter and now broadband!
Food, clothing and shelter are basic human needs. But come July 2010, every person in Finland will have the right to a one-megabit broadband connection.
With this Finland becomes the world's first country to create a law guaranteeing broadband access.

Further to that, by end of 2015 the government will make a 100 Mb broadband connection a legal right. Some variation will be allowed, if connectivity can be arranged through mobile phone networks.
It will be interesting to see which other countries follow suit.
